Having been working in a place that requires me to be creative is not that exhausting, honestly. Being creative helps me be more relaxed and free. However, what makes it difficult is how to stay creative without being stuck. Due to certain issues, we may feel a little bit lost and frustrated but it is okay and it is only natural to feel that way. Humans don’t always function normally when being pressured or tired. I think a lot of people have the same problem as well, including you. Are you someone whose work requires you to be creative? Are you a business owner who has to design your products or design your marketing strategy? If yes, then this article is perfect for you! A friend of mine who is a Melbourne web designer told me how she overcame her design frustrations with these simple ways. Keep reading to find out how!

Love what you do

I know it sounds obvious, but it’s true. I know sometimes we have to face reality where not everything can go according to our life plan. I had linguistics and literature as my educational background, but my friends who also underwent the same study ended up working at a bank or other kinds of jobs that are against what they are passionate about. Well, I know it’s hard, but don’t do it, my friend. Do things you love and you won’t be frustrated. When you are passionate about something, you will not find it difficult to relax and get some time to formulate ideas for the project you are working on.

If things don’t go as planned, deal with it

One of the biggest mistakes one could make in everything they do is they tend to leave things unattended just because they don’t go as planned. When your design doesn’t go according to your plan, the best thing you can do is deal with it or make it work. If you leave it without trying, you will be frustrated as time goes by.

Fix your mistakes

We all make mistakes; there is nothing perfect in this life, but it’s fine. What’s not fine is when we make mistakes without fixing them. When you ignore your mistakes without finishing what you have started, you won’t make it to your goals. What’s more frustrating than that?

Never waste time

Sometimes we think we have time until we don’t have it anymore. Almost all of us do that, right? When it comes to design, ideas may appear out of nowhere. We might feel like, “Nah, I’m good. I will just write it down later.” But that ‘later’ will never come. Soon, you will get tired because you think you have run out of ideas. When you think of an idea, immediately write it down or you will regret it.

Focus on small details but plan for big

The biggest mistake one can make when it comes to planning is that they make big plans but they never finish it. I think some of us do that, right? Well, let me tell you this; you can make big plans and you can make it happen, but let’s start with smallest details first to finish the big ones. When you do that, you will feel less pressured and you can finish it.

Take a break

Did you ever notice that you get tired easily after work and soon feel lazy to do your work? You might blame it on how tight your schedules are and how difficult your tasks are. The truth is; what makes you tired and lazy is actually the way you push yourself without taking some rest. You might think that taking some break may distract you from finishing your work or design, but the truth is; it lets your brain take some rest and recharge. When your brain is more relaxed, your body will follow suit. When that happens, ideas come naturally and you will not feel tired easily.

I know everyone is different mentally and physically, but we may share the same goal in life; happiness. When we succeed, we sure are happy. When we are happy, we will feel at ease. The lesson I’m teaching you in this article is to change your mindset and go easy on yourself. Once you do that, everything you do will be easier.
