Atmel and microcontroller applications

This section presents a range of microcontroller resources based around the ATMEL microcontroller. This device can be programmed in a number of languages and is an excellent extension of the PICAXE devices.

All these devices use the flash based MEGA family with on-board boot loaders - start the loader, press reset and the new program is downloaded. Even large programs are downloaded in seconds.

HB ATMEL - complements the HB series of boards that are used with the PICAXE system. The output connector and the serial link are identical.

My First Micro- this is based around the MEGA8 device and features 8 switches, 4 leds, light sensor, 2 H bridge motor drivers, serial output, power supply and two expansion ports. It was designed as a comprehensive teacher training board.

Control 3 - features the AT8535.MEGA 8525 and 4 switches, 2 lights, 2 sensor outputs and on board LCD

Control 4 - uses a stack approach to permit the use of a MEGA8 or MEGA8535. Extra top boards allow the use of 2 motors, 4 lights, 2 sensors and 2 switches
